Body Rehab

After a long week of working late, a crazy weekend of promoting our Nature C Bee Venom Mask at the Healthy Living Show… topped off with a few rather late social occasions, my body is feeling a little worse for wear to say the least.  Usually after an exhausting week I can jump back into my normal routine relatively quickly. This time however, even after 2 solid nights of sleep, I’m still feeling like a train wreck. So, what’s my solution? ….vitamin C and coconut water!

No matter how healthy you are your body can feel slightly out of whack from time to time and when you don’t pay enough attention you can hit the proverbial wall. The feeling of tiredness, mental fatigue and even nausea is often a sign of dehydration and a vitamin C deficiency that has been ignored.

Dehydration is the number one trigger of daytime fatigue, and can lead to toxin build up and nutritional imbalances in the body. Coconut water is the perfect way to ensure your body is properly hydrated. It naturally contains sugars and electrolytes that quickly re-hydrate the body. Of course, this isn’t to say you shouldn’t bother drinking plain mineral water as well. Try C Coconut Water from your local supermarket (tastes best chilled).

The feeling of fatigue is more often than not a vitamin C deficiency. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps us manage stress. Not only are you unable to cope with stress when you don’t get enough of it but you are also weakening your immune system making you susceptible to serious illnesses. To increase your intake of vitamin C, try snacking on guava and capsicum. Adult men and women require a minimum of 90 mg of vitamin C daily. Just half a cup of guava contains 188 mg of vitamin C and the same amount of red capsicum contains 142 mg of vitamin C.

With coconut water, guava and capsicum in hand I’m feeling armed and dangerous, ready to knock off another great week!

About the author
New Zealand based Nature Bee was born in 1997 when Jeff and Ben Cook joined forces. The father / son team discovered a special process developed by Canterbury University, still considered to be ground breaking today, that unlocks the nutrients of bee pollen, making it far more digestible than normal bee pollen. This proprietary process was later to be named the ‘potentiation process' and is continually used only by Nature Bee on their New Zealand bee pollen. Nature Bee is now available in almost every country in the world.
