I LOVE Dark Chocolate

Came across this cute little ditty this week:

A Lady, while eating her dinner, declared that she’d rather be thinner: “But food has a race to get in my face, and chocolate is always the winner.”

If only this lady knew that she could have her chocolate and slim down too!  … and that it has to do with the kind of chocolate she had been eating, and a lot more to do with what was in her actual dinner.

JUICY DETOX TIP: Emma’s juicing tips

- With a conventional juicer, always consume your juice freshly made.

- Keep your juices vegetable based. For a little sweetness, adding one green apple can be enough to make it palatable without a huge sugar hit. Better still, add a few drops of liquid stevia.

- If you add carrot or beetroot, limit it to no more than 25%, otherwise the sugar content gets to high.

JUICY DETOX TIP: Cucumber & Celery to the Rescue!

How is everyone going on their Detox mission and other New Year’s Resolutions? Since I’ve been back home and into the normal routine I’ve stepped up my Detox mission and on Emma’s instruction bought a juicer. The morning regimen now includes a large glass of vegetable juice before Breakfast – this may sound unappealing but once you find the right combination of ingredients it can taste quite nice believe it or not. The benefits of regular intake of vegetable juice include better digestion, stronger immune system and has been described as working as the ‘building stones of the body’. Celery and cucumber juice are two goodies – after reading why you will want to go and buy a juicer to stick them in immediately!

Thank you all for posting your New Year’s Resolutions! I see that many of you have written that you would like to lose weight as your New Year goal and get healthier so here’s a bit of advice.

A good way to start is to keep a food journal and note down what you’re eating every day and then ask yourself what you could replace with healthier foods or what you could cut out completely.

QUICK DETOX TIP: Sugar Cravings & Low Energy

I definitely recommend the use of stevia too! It allows you to keep the “sweetness” in your food while you nix the sugar, honey, sweet fruits and other yeast-feeders. Not only does this allow the body to Detox but will also alleviate the symptoms of candida and other fungal issues, as well as allowing the excess weight to drop off. I use stevia in my smoothies, ‘hot chocolate’, overly-icky-vegetable juices, lemon water and cleverly healthy sweet treats.
