Why A Daily Dose Of Resveratrol Makes For A Healthy Heart

It’s an old adage, but it’s true. You are what you eat. Many women, especially as they approach middle age, don’t eat the right things. Unfortunately, neglecting your nutritional needs can lead to a great many health problems as we age.

Often in their youth, many women exclude nutritious foods and embark on ‘diets’, with the primary goal of restricting calorie intake, and eliminating fats and carbohydrates altogether, usually to lose weight. We now know that these ‘diets’ can do more harm than good by affecting metabolism, introducing bad eating habits like bingeing and purging and generally depriving the body of the right nutrients to be healthy.

Top 5 Anti-Ageing Products

Wildbouty bee venom mask

Last week Lifestyle Asia HK named Wild Bounty Bee Venom Mask as one of the top 5 new anti-ageing products in Hong Kong and for good reason. The beautifully packaged mask has been touted as the natural alternative to Botox.

Dermatologist Lisa Lam explains “when first applying the mask you will feel a very slight tingling sensation, which is completely normal – this is simply the mask working and stimulating the collagen production beneath the skins surface. Leave it on for 20 minutes and wash off. After using the mask my skin felt immediately tighter. You will see more dramatic results when using it over a few weeks. It is the best anti-ageing product I’ve come across in my career – and its natural”.

Final Countdown

Wild Bounty

Where has time gone? It seems to be evaporating these past few months! I’ve been so busy setting up our Wild Bounty natural health food store here in Hong Kong that I haven’t had a chance to write. Moving to Asia for work I’ve had to adapt hard and fast to my new surroundings and there have already been invaluable things I’ve learnt over the past 4 months…

Coconut Hair Treatment

If you’re anything like me your hair takes a daily ritualistic thrashing with a blow dryer and pair of GHD’s which leaves it extremely dry and looking half dead in its ungroomed state. Now the obvious solution here would be to simply stop however if that is an impossibility then may I suggest you try using coconut oil as a bi-weekly nourishing hair treatment.

Cure Kids’ Red Nose Day TV Commercial

2 weeks ago I was fortunate enough to be part of the Cure Kids’ Red Nose TV Commercial. The shoot took place on a very gloomy Sunday – it was cold, wet and oh so miserable but inside the studio the kids turned the day into so much fun. I was considering kidnapping a few of them as they were so adorable!

Cure Kids’ Red Nose Day is a “fun” national campaign that celebrates local communities, embraces the light-hearted Kiwi culture, and supports children across New Zealand. A simple idea created over two decades ago, the campaign encourages everyone to let go, laugh, and be silly…all for a serious cause. Funds raised through Cure Kids Red Nose Day will be invested in vital medical research into childhood illnesses.

Is low fat food making you fat?

Is low fat food making you fat?

My silly mistake in years past was choosing nasty food products labeled ‘Diet’, ‘Low Fat’, ‘Lite’, ‘Sugar Free’. These products are NOT healthy – they will NOT make you lose weight. In fact, if the ingredients list reads like the back of a Crayola pencil box (i.e Color E-42PS, G42-u) can you really call it a ‘food’?
